(Known as Micro Silica)
Silica fume is a highly pozzolanic material that is used to enhance mechanical and durablity properties of concrete. It may be added directy to concrete as an individual ingredient or in a blend of portland cement and silica fume.
Initial use of silica fume in concrete was mostly for cement replacement, along with water-reducing admixtures (wras). Eventually, the availablity of high- range water – reducing admixtures (hrwras, often referred to as superplasticizers) allowed new possibilities for use of silica fume to produce high levels of performance.

USES:
Micro concrete, high strength concrete, hydro electric power station, nuclear power station, petroleum referineries, construction of multi stroyed buildings, concrete roads for highways, water dams, tunnels, cement industries etc.
ADVANTAGES:
Sulphate resistence, chloride resistence, reduce alkalic silica reaction, improve concrete workabilty, reduce slump loss, reduce segregation, reduce bleeding and plastic shrinkage crack, reduce concrete carbonation.
DISADVANTAGES:
Do not use 10% above dose, reason is usage of 10% above silica reduces concrete strength and ductility.

SIO2 : ABOVE 85 %
LOSS ON IGNITION : < THAN 2.30 %

COMPLIANCE WITH INTERNATIONAL STANDARD LIKE BS 13263 Part-1, ASTM C-1240, IS – 15388.
DOES:
5.0 % – 10.0 % BY WEIGHT OF CEMENT REPLACEMENT. AND IF ANY POZZOLONIC ADMIXTURE USED LIKE FLYASH,5%-10% BT WEIGHT OF CEMENT WITHOUT REPLACEMENT.
PACKING:
The product is supplied in 25 kg single lined hdpe bag.
HEALTH & SAFETY INSTRUCTION:
Silica fume is non-toxic nature, splashes of slilcafume on skin or eyes should be washed of with clean running water.in the event of prolonged irritation, medical attention shall be sought immeditely.
